The on-site cold recycling of roads belongs to the category of road maintenance and reconstruction. The road cold recycling process refers to making full use of the old paving materials (surface course and base course) of existing asphalt roads, adding some new aggregates when necessary, and adding a certain amount of additives (cement, foam asphalt, emulsified asphalt, lime, fly ash, etc.) in proportion to continuously complete the milling, crushing, mixing The process of paving and compacting to form a new base layer with the required performance quality. This construction process mainly solves the problem of damage to the asphalt pavement base layer.
The on-site cold regeneration technology is not only suitable for the maintenance and renovation of high-grade highways, but also for the maintenance and renovation of general roads and rural roads. This technology has been widely used in developed countries such as Europe and America since the 1950s, and is often used as a solution for road maintenance.
The main construction machinery of on-site cold recycling technology is a road surface that integrates crushing and mixing
At present, the main models of cold regeneration machines in China are the Wittgen WR2500 and BMW PH121, with a stock of only a hundred units. There are no regional restrictions on the construction process of cold recycling machines, and this process can be used on asphalt pavements across the country. According to calculations, if promoted for use, a prefecture level city should be equipped with 3-5 units.
The working device of the cold regeneration machine is a milling and mixing rotor equipped with a large number of specialized milling cutters. The machine travels along the working surface on the old road surface, with the rotor descending to the set depth, rotating at high speed, milling and crushing the raw road material (including the surface layer and base layer). At the same time, the water spraying system draws water from the accompanying water truck based on the driving speed and milling depth, and automatically sprays a certain amount of water into the working device casing. The delivery volume of water is controlled by a microprocessor controlled pumping system. The milling rotor thoroughly mixes water and milling material evenly. Liquid stabilizers, such as hot asphalt (a cold regeneration machine can be equipped with an emulsified asphalt spraying device), can be sprayed into the working device cover through specially designed nozzles; Powder stabilizers, such as cement, can be pre distributed on the working surface of the recycling machine according to the designed dosage. The recycling machine will crush and mix the powder stabilizers with the road surface and water in one go.
