In recent years, China's highway construction is advancing by leaps and bounds, most of which are asphalt pavement, especially high-grade highway pavement. According to the design service life of asphalt pavement, more than 15% of asphalt pavement needs to be renovated every year in our country, and the amount of abandoned asphalt pavement has reached more than 2.5 million tons per year, and these figures are increasing at the rate of 15% per year. So reasonable use of asphalt recycling technology has become an important topic in highway construction.
According to the experience of foreign countries, the recycling of asphalt pavement materials used in new pavement or pavement maintenance engineering is technically feasible and economically reasonable. It will not increase too much production cost and turn waste into treasure, which is conducive to environmental protection. Compared with other pavement repair technologies, asphalt pavement regeneration can also reduce the time of traffic interruption to a certain extent.
To sum up, the recycling of asphalt pavement materials has the advantages of reducing construction cost, saving aggregate and asphalt binder, maintaining the geometric characteristics of thick pavement, protecting the environment, saving energy, and reducing the delay of users.
Therefore, how to apply the recycling technology of asphalt pavement to achieve the expected economic and social benefits is the focus of this paper.
There are many kinds of pavement cold recycling. According to the definition of asphalt recycling and Recycling Association, it can be divided into "hot plant recycling, hot site recycling, cold plant recycling, cold site recycling and full thickness recycling".
The on-site cold recycling of asphalt pavement refers to the reuse of old pavement materials after processing, adding part of new aggregate into new aggregate as required, adding a certain amount of cement and appropriate amount of water in proportion, and continuously completing the milling, crushing, adding, mixing, paving and compaction of materials in natural environment, A process for forming a structural layer with required bearing capacity.
Cold recycling technology is generally used in the recycling of base and subbase. For the regeneration of the existing asphalt pavement base and subbase, due to the complex composition of the materials, the first problem is to solve the classification and crushing of the materials, and then according to the design requirements of the base or subbase, the grading can be done separately after regeneration, or together with the existing asphalt surface course after regeneration.
